Dr. Burks and Central Missouri Physicians for Women participate with many medical insurance plans. We encourage all patients to read their insurance policy handbook and become familiar with their coverage and precertification requirements. If we are a participating provider on your plan, we will process your insurance for the services we provided you. Your co-payment will be required at the time of service. Any deductible applied to our fee or non-covered charges will be your direct responsibility. If you do not have medical health insurance or are receiving medical care that is not covered under your benefit plan, you will be expected to pay for your services the same day as your visit.
If your insurance requires pre-authorization for procedures to be performed within our office, please inform our billing staff so that we can obtain the appropriate pre-approval prior to your appointment.
Ultimately the responsibility of knowing about your healthcare plan and what it does/does not cover is the patient’s. Many changes are continuously happening with healthcare insurance providers relating to labs, hospitals, participating physicians, and ancillary service providers. While we make every effort to keep abreast of changes for the benefit of our patients and our practice it is ultimately the patient’s responsibility to know their coverage. In lieu of this we recommend that our patients carefully review their plan’s benefits and suggest contacting your plan’s provider with any questions.
Most major insurance companies are accepted, including; Anthem BC/BS, Cigna, Coventry, Healthcare USA, Healthlink, Tri-Care, and United HealthCare. (see links below for connection to your insurance company)
